What do the e-TAG beeps mean?

e-TAGs make different sounds depending on the status of your Roam Express account. Your e-TAG may change its sound to warn you of a problem with your account.

The meaning of each sound depends on the type of e-TAG you have. Compare your tag with each of the below pictures to find out what type it is.

If your e-TAG looks like this, here's what the beeps mean:

  • 1 beep: There's enough money in your account and everything's fine.
  • 3 beeps: Your account balance is low. Top up your account as soon as possible.
  • 4 beeps: Your account has been suspended or cancelled. Pay the outstanding amount as soon as you can.
  • 0 beeps: Your e-TAG is incorrectly installed or faulty.

 


If your e-TAG looks like this, here's what the beeps mean:

  • Bleep bleep: There's enough money in your account and everything's fine.
  • Trill: Your account balance is low. Top up your account as soon as possible.
  • 4 beeps: Your account has been suspended or cancelled. Pay the outstanding amount as soon as you can.
  • 0 beeps: Your e-TAG is incorrectly installed or faulty

Log in to top up or reactivate your account. Order a replacement for a faulty tag and to arrange for a refund for no tag in vehicle fees.
